We are proud to announce the award of a 2nd clasp to WO1 (TSM) Nigel Levett’s Cadet Forces Medal in recognition of 24 years service to Somerset Army Cadets.

Somerset’s Honorary Colonel, Brigadier Richard Toomey CBE, made the presentation to the County Training Sergeant Major at a ceremony at Yoxter Cadet Training Centre during break in training at the weekend. As a bonus WO1 (TSM) Levett was also presented with a bottle of vintage port by Capt Stuart Cumine, Acting OC Normandy Company, in front cadets, staff and his family who were secretly invited to the event without WO1 Levett’s knowledge!

The Cadet Forces Medal is awarded to recognise long and efficient service by Commissioned Officers and non-commissioned adult instructors of the UK Cadet Forces: the Army Cadet Force, the Air Training Corps, the Sea Cadet Corps and Combined Cadet Force. The qualifying period for the medal is 12 years, with clasps awarded for each additional six years of service. Up to three additional awards are decorated with bars whilst four+ awards are decorated by a gilt rosette.

Congratulations!
