Last night saw Lytchett & Upton hosted their second Inter-Detachment Virtual Parade.

This time they welcomed Cadets from Christchurch and Bournemouth Detachments with their respective Detachment Commanders.

SSI Elsson (Christchurch) and 2Lt Ison (Bournemouth) along with East (El Alamein) Company 2IC, Capt Elsson as their special guests.

With over 40 enthusiastic and motivated Cadets online, it reaffirmed their commitment to Training and the Army Cadet Force.

The evening commenced with a morale-boosting address from Capt. Elsson on return to training before he moved on to give a comprehensive and well-received lesson to the Basic Cadets. Detachment Commander 2Lt Ison took charge of the 1, 2 & 3 Star Cadets presenting a superb Military Knowledge Lesson on The History of The Rifles Regiment.

As usual, the aim of the evening was not only for training purposes but more importantly for all Cadets and Adults to socialise, familiarise themselves with one another and to encourage unity between Detachments. It was obvious from the start that the Cadets were attentive and enthusiastic!

Without a doubt, it was a very productive and enjoyable evening for all. Lytchett and Upton DC, SSI Shaun Fudge said: “I would like to thank the following adults for being instrumental in this effort, giving up their free time and encouraging their Cadets to take part.

  • 2Lt Ison (D.C. Bournemouth)
  • SSI Beck Bournemouth)
  • SSI Elsson (D.C. Christchurch)
  • SI Middleton (Christchurch)
  • SSI Mitchell (Lytchett)
  • PI Pocock (Lytchett)
  • Capt Elsson East (El Alamein) Company 2IC"

Capt Elsson added: "It's fantastic to see the Detachments in East Company working together, not only to deliver training but to forge bonds and build friendships between themselves. Many of the Cadets in attendance tonight are new to the ACF and this is an important step in making them feel part of the wider Company "
