Yesterday was the final East (El Alamein) Company Skill at Arms and Shooting Day at Wallisdown ARC and it was the turn of the Lytchett & Upton Detachment to attend and gain some skills on the various weapon systems.

Well done to all those Lytchett & Upton Detachment Cadets that attended the SAA event especially those who managed to pass their Weapon Handling Tests on the L98A2 Cadet GP Rifle and the .22 Cadet Small Bore Target Rifle.

There was some amazingly accurate shooting with the .22 and Air Rifles, some Cadets even receiving awards for their efforts.

It was also a chance for some of our Basic Cadets, who joined during the lockdown, to experience the various weapon systems used in the ACF.

We all hope they enjoyed the experience!

These events would not happen without the Voluntary help and assistance of the Adult Instructors, many of whom were from other Detachments, they generously gave their time and knowledge to our Cadets yesterday. I regularly witness this selfless commitment from them and always recognise the thanks that they deserve for it, working together to give our Cadets the best life experiences they possibly can.

My thanks for attending yesterday must go to the following: Maj. Brooks, Capt. Elsson, Lt Tilsed, Lt Jackson, CSM Bean, SSI Crouch, SSI Beck, SSI Wheeler-Clayton, SI Pocock, and NUV Fudge.
Proud to be part of this team!
Thank You All !!
