Over the last few months our Cadet Force Adult Volunteers have been working hard to re-train, re-qualify and get Detachments Covid safe and ready for your return.

As the rest of our Detachments start to reopen across the County here are some things you can be doing to prepare yourself for your return to face to face training.

1. TRY ON YOUR UNIFORM AND SEE IF IT STILL FITS

If it doesn’t fit don’t worry, get in touch with your Detachment Commanders and Detachment staff and they can help you through the process of measuring up and ordering some new uniform.

2. WASH, IRON AND CHECK YOUR KIT

For some it’s been over 14 months out of uniform, so freshen your kit up with a wash, iron out any creases and hang it up ready to go. Check for any repairs that could be needed, paying particular attention to any badges, buttons, pockets and cuffs.

3. CLEAN AND POLISH YOUR BOOTS

Get rid of any scuffs and dust that may have built up over the last 14 months. Take out your laces, check them for damage also check the soles of your boots are in good condition.

4. CLEAN, CHECK AND SHAPE YOUR BERET

Clean off any dust, dirt or hairs from your beret.

Clean and polish your cap badge and check for any damage.

Shape your beret. If you are not sure how to do this, get in touch with your Detachment staff or Detachment NCOs who will be happy to help.

5. RE-ENGAGE WITH YOUR DETACHMENT AND COMPANY SOCIAL MEDIA

Information about returning to training will be provided very soon on your Detachment and Company Facebook Closed groups. Please take this time to reconnect with your Detachment groups to keep up to date with all progress, information and forthcoming training events.

And lastly, please take the time to reach out to other Cadets in your Detachments and Companies, especially those who may not have had access to social media for whatever reason. Pass on this message and help them to stay up to date with the details for the return to face-to-face training.

Thanks everyone, stay safe and we hope to see you very soon.
