Supporting the Royal British Legion (RBL) 2Lt Liz Millard and her partner Warrant Officer (Second class) Martin Field (4 Brigade CTT) are raising awareness and funds for the RBL.

2Lt Liz Millard said “They do amazing work and provide services to serving personnel and veterans of the armed forces. Among these services are counselling, financial support, counteracting isolation and loneliness and enabling the improvement of physical and mental well-being of veterans and serving personnel.”

Unfortunately, due to the current climate 2Lt Millard and WO2 field have been unable to sell poppies on the street currently. Therefore, they have come up with a great way to both raise funds and awareness of the RBL.

2Lt Millard and WO2 Field are going to row the entire distance of the Dover to Dunkirk evacuation route, racking up a total of 93 miles! They will be completing this challenge on a Concept 2 indoor rowing machine over a 2-day period: approximately 8 rowing hours per day.

2Lt Millard went on to say “The RBL need donations to keep these services going, so we are rowing the distance of Dover to Dunkirk and back in order to help this cause.”

Together they have set a goal of £250 to be raised for the RBL but as of 14:30 today they have already exceeded their goal and now stand at over £300 raised to help fund the RBL.
