On Saturday 20th May Rotherham Detachment took part in the annual Mayor’s parade.
When a new mayor takes office they have a service and parade to commit him to the borough which show the start of their journey as mayor. The detachment paraded through Rotherham town and into church for a service.
As part of the ceremony a new mayor's cadet is selected and will escort the mayor on all his civic duties and whilst on parades. Rotherham’s new mayor's cadet is Cadet Lee Edwards
