"SSI Simon DeBonis Detachment Commander of Beverley Army Cadet Force, Humberside and South Yorkshire, A Company, started raising money by selling poppies in Beverley town centre on the 29/10/2020, to raise funds for RBL (Royal British Legion) and will be there until Wednesday 04/11/2020.

Unfortunately due to the pandemic, RBL of Beverley had made the difficult decision not to sell poppies this year, as a lot of there patrons are of a age where they are most vulnerable.

SSI DeBonis then made the decision as a Army Veteran himself that he wanted to sell poppies as a mark of respect to all who that have served still serving and sacrificed for this country.

SSI DeBonis, has had to go to other areas in Hull to source all the equipment needed to make this happen, with a special thank to AUO Nichola Boyce East Hulls Detachment Commander also A Company for helping and supplying all the Poppies pins and bands to sell.

With only two days of selling SSI DeBonis has managed to sell all of his stock and fill four tins, each tin is full of money raised for RBL.

It truly goes to show that people still care and want to help raise money by donating for poppies, both days even before SSI Debonis had put his table up, he already had a queue of people wanting to donate to RBL by buying Poppies.

It truly is very humbling knowing that with all that's happening here in Hull and the UK, people are still wanting to support our Veteran's and serving members of our British army.

LEST WE FORGET.
