At County Commandant Colonel Fred Owen's first Commandant's Conference on the 22nd of the month, she was promoted from Lieutenant to Captain.
A week later, at B Company's Training Weekend at the Cadet Training
Centre in Strensall, she was appointed as B Company's new Officer
Commanding!
Colonel Owen said:
"Today I had the great pleasure in appointing Captain Lesley Wardlaw as the Officer Commanding B Company. The Company covers a large geographical area stretching from Selby to Knaresborough, York, Harrogate and Castleford. She will now lead a team of Cadet Force Adult Volunteers and Cadets from her HQ in York. She balances all this with being a mum and a full time Civil Servant. The ACF provides opportunity for both cadets and adults to develop their skills improve social capital and mobility in our communities. We wish Captain Wardlaw all the very best, of course she doesn't need luck, she is surrounded with a great team of volunteers and support staff from the RFCA (Yorks and Humber)"
