By SSI Paul Clarke, Royton Detachment Commander, No 2 (Kohima) Company
A visit was made by the Royton Branch of the Royal British Legion (RBL) to Royton Detachment, No 2 (Kohima) Company, to officially recognise our affiliation. RBL Chairman, Sgt Major Brian Douglas (Ret) and President, Major Eddy Hardaker (Ret) presented an Agreement of Affiliation to Detachment Commander, Staff Sgt Instructor Paul Clarke. The agreement is to work together, supporting and encouraging each other to benefit our communities.
The cadets were presented with affiliation patches from Major Hardaker. The affiliation will see the RBL and Greater Manchester ACF working together in the community with emphasis on Poppy selling, Remembrance Day parades and other events.
The evening was also a celebration for 6 of our recruits, who after having passed their basic training were enrolled into Royton Detachment in a presentation. Sgt Major Instructor Dave Crocker was on hand to present the Cadets with a certificate and the Detachment Cap Badge.
