Commandants Coin
Cadet Staff Sgt Ruth Chase transferred to Greater Manchester ACF from Wiltshire ACF.
The Commandant from Wiltshire ACF sent a Commandants Coin and requested our Hon Col Sharman Birtles JP DL, Vice Lord-Lieutenant, present it to Cadets Staff Sgt Chase with the coin and certificate. Hon Col Sharman Birtles was happy to oblige and presented the award on behalf of Wiltshire ACF Commandant.
Presentations was also made to the following Cadet Force Adult Volunteers.
SSI Danny Mayo – presented with his long service medal for 12 years volunteer service to Greater Manchester ACF.
SI Mark Rutter – presented with a clasp for 6 years volunteer medal which will be put onto his 12-year long service medal. This makes 18 years volunteer service to Greater Manchester ACF.
RSMI Douglas Craddock – presented with a 4th clasp for a further 6 years volunteer service. RSMI Craddock has given 36 years dedicated years service to Greater Manchester ACF.
SMI Ian Mackie – presented with a 5th clasp for a further 6 years volunteer service. SMI Mackie has dedicated 46 years to Greater Manchester ACF. The 5th clasp is for a total of 44 years volunteer service but due to covid the clasp was not able to be presented until now, a further 2 years later.
SI Ben Wright – Lord-Lieutenants Commendation for commendable work in the ACF & in his local community.
Capt Chris Townson - A special presentation was made to Capt Townson, County DofE Officer and Waterloo (Seniors) Company Commander. The award was a President’s Certificate for Excellence in Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
An additional ‘surprise’ for Capt Townson was from our Commandant, Col Catherine Harrison, who promoted Capt Townson to Major. This is thoroughly deserved for his unwavering dedication to the cadets of Greater Manchester ACF.

The presentations of the above was made during the weekend of the Command Team meeting/ This was held to discuss the future exciting plans for Greater Manchester ACF, including Annual Camp 2022. A very productive day led by our Commandant Col Catherine Harrison.
