Our Honorary Colonel & Vice Lord-Lieutenant Sharman Birtles was honoured to welcome Her Majesty The Queen on her recent visit to the Coronation Street set. The purpose of the Royal Visit was to thank everyone concerned with the show for the incredible achievement of staying on air during the recent global pandemic. It was also a fitting way of rounding off Coronation Street's 60th year on air. Her Majesty was in fine form and took great interest in meeting and talking to many of the people who kept the show on air throughout the lockdown without compromising anyone's safety.
The Honorary Colonel admitted that she is a fan of the show and was delighted to meet all the members of the cast who were present on the very special day.
