Back in February we reported that Cadet Sergeant Jordan Latcham late last year was at work when he and his boss came across a road traffic incident and provided emergency first aid at the scene.
I am please to announce that he has been awarded the Order of Mercy Foundation’s Medal for Distinguished Community Service for Cadets. This is the first time that this medal has been awarded. Congratulations Sergeant Latcham. #WellDeserved We are all #Proud of you.
A HGV lorry had careered off the road and into an apartment block smashing the front of the building. Jordan put his cadet training into practice and administered first aid to the driver and remained with him until the emergency services arrived.
Jordan then assisted his boss in creating a safe route for the building’s occupants to exit the building. His quick thinking and initiative saved the day. Well done Sgt Latcham Durham Army Cadet Force is proud of you.
