Last weekend, ACF Officers from Hampshire & Isle of Wight ACF and their invited guests had the opportunity to meet for a Summer Function organised by the Officers Mess Committee at the Winchester Hotel and Spa.
The mess “dined out” several former members who have retired, changed roles or moved away to other counties on promotion.
Mess dinners provide an opportunity for mess members to meet on a formal but friendly occasion, allowing the CO or his guests to address the members as a group. On this occasion the Officers Mess was also joined by the Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire, Honorary Colonel, Nigel Atkinson Esq.
In the County there is an Officers and Sergeants Mess who are able to organise social events for the County's CFAV.
This is just one of the rewarding activities that be enjoyed as a Cadet Force Adult Volunteer in the Army Cadet Force.
