A none stop weekend for the cadets and staff on No 4 (Korea) Company Camp.
There were 35 new recruits, who was on their first camp with the ACF. These were in addition to the returning cadets. All the cadets I spoke with had beaming smiles and said they were really enjoying the camp. Great to hear.
The training delivered by the staff was, as always, of a very high standard. The training included First Aid, Shooting, Fieldcraft (even in the snow that had fallen over the weekend) Turnout (uniforms) etc.
The cadets and staff enjoyed a lovely ‘Christmas Dinner’ with the cadets being served by staff as a nice treat. A great treat for everyone.
A visit from our Commandant, Col Catherine Harrison, to chat with the cadets and staff. This also gave Col Harrison the opportunity to present Capt Andi Boulton, No 4 (Korea) Company Training Officer, a bar to go with her medal for her long service (21 years) to the ACF as a Cadet Force Adult Volunteer.
Cadets from the company who recently undertook their silver DofE expedition gave presentations on their weekend and spoke about their team work to encourage one another throughout which helped keep their moral high and motivation to ensure they completed their weekend expedition. Cadets advised how to enrol if they interested in joining the Duke of Edinburgh Award.
A record number of promotions for cadets who worked hard before and during the lockdown to complete their assessments.
