No 5 (Anzio) Company held its first leadership training day of 2022, for 30 cadets all with aspirations to gain promotion and for some, a further promotion. Over the course of the day cadets were split into two training groups. The first group completed the Junior Leadership training lead by CSM Jose Townson, this is designed to prepare the cadets for their promotion to Cadet Lance Corporal. During the day the lessons covered, included what makes a good NCO and detachment responsibilities. The cadets also had to prepare and give a 10-minute presentation, command a squad at drill and take charge and lead their group on a command task.
The second group attended the Leadership Development training which is designed for those cadets who already hold a rank, to develop their current leadership skills. This covered: discovering their own leadership style, types of leadership, delegation, the decision-making process, and dynamic risk assessments. They also commanded a squad at drill and took charge and lead their group on a command task.
