During the month of March, the Royal British Legion Industries (RBLI) challenged people to join The Great Tommy Sleep Out. The challenge was to sleep outside for one night to fundraise for the RBLI to raise awareness for homeless ex-servicemen and women.

Cadets and staff from No 5 (Anzio) Company did just that. On Saturday 18 March 23 cadets and staff slept outside and raised over £2000 for the RBLI.

In the UK there are believed to be over 6000 veterans that are experiencing homelessness right now. With the money the cadets and staff have raised, Royal British Legion Industries can provide safe, warm housing and ensure everyone has a fair opportunity to gain employment, regardless of health conditions or disability.

Thank you so much to everyone who donated and for the cadets and staff who took part in the sleep out to help raise awareness and raise funds for this incredible cause.

A very special thank you to Major Chris Townson, Company Commander, for not only arranging the Big Tommy Sleep Out but also for running his company weekend camp over the same weekend which involved the cadets training during the day, by the amazing company staff, and in the evening those cadets taking part in the sleep out, ensuring they had a comfortable sleeping area as well as the cadets in the accommodation having a comfortable night too.

A huge well done to everyone.
