Detachments competing for the Champion Detachment of the Company

NO 4 (Korea) COMPANY 'COMPETITION' CAMP

6 December 2022

  • Greater Manchester ACF

SMI Debbie Callaghan, County Media Officer

No 4 (Somme) Company held an Inter Detachment Company Competition where each Detachment worked together as a team to earn points to win The David Collins Trophy.

The activities included First Aid, Drill, Shooting, Archery, Signals, Fieldcraft and Command Tasks.

Sale Detachment were the clear winners of The David Collins Trophy. The Trophy was collected by Cadet Rowson from Sale who was recognised for his leadership, his ability, his behaviour and was the top scorer within his detachment.

David Collins was a Stretford cadet; he is also SSI Adele Warings nephew. SSI Waring is a member of No 4 (Korea) Company who joined Greater Manchester ACF as a Cadet Force Adult Volunteer (CFAV) because she saw the value in the Army Cadets that it made in her family. David was a No 4 Company cadet and grew up with several CFAV’s currently in the company.

The David Collins Award is in honour of David’s memory and is awarded yearly to the Detachment of the Year in No 4 (Korea) Company.

A promotion was also made to the Senior Cadet of the Company. After recently completing her Senior Cadet Instructor Course (SCIC), Cadet Staff Sgt Kershaw was promoted to Cadet CSM Kershaw. Very much deserved for all her had work and commitment to her Company.

Thank you to Capt Emma Harrison, Company Training Officer for the information about the weekend and the pictures. Click here to see more.
