Over the weekend of 27 January to 29 of January 96 cadets and 19 staff from No 1 (Minden) trained at Holcombe Moor Training Camp.
The weekend was to achieve passes in the Army Proficiency Certificate (APC) syllabus before the introduction of the new Army Cadet Syllabus (ACS) this year. The cadets worked to pass their 1 Star First Aid, 2 Star First Aid, 1 Star Military Knowledge, 2 Star Military Knowledge, 1 Star Skill at Arms, 1 Star Drill and Turnout and 2 Star Drill and Turnout and Weapon Handling Tests.
A very busy weekend of activities for the cadets and staff.
The hard work paid off for the cadets and resulted in a very impressive 178 passes by the cadets. The First Aid qualification giving them skills that can be used to save lives. Many cadets have indeed used their knowledge to save the lives in real situations.
The cadets learn new skills and on weekend camps get the opportunity to meet new people and make new friends. The cadet experience, which will be a lifetime memory.
