NEW YEAR'S ADDRESS FROM THE COMMANDANT

Colonel Greenlee sends an important message to all members of Yorkshire (N&W) ACF

NEW YEAR'S ADDRESS FROM THE COMMANDANT

7 January 2021

  • Yorkshire (North And West) ACF

As we enter 2021, I would like to take this opportunity to say how proud I am of all of the members of Yorkshire (N&W) Army Cadet Force.

In the last nine months, we have weathered many storms and taken many brave decisions together, all of which you have supported and taken in your stride. It has not been easy for you, your families or our County but working together, trusting each other and finding solutions together have helped us to navigate our training safely through these difficult times. The uncertainty created by the pandemic is challenging for all of us, but I am proud and encouraged that you all have risen to the challenge and have truly kept the flame alive.

As we move into yet another period of unknown times and yet another lockdown, we again need to rally around each other and continue to rise to the challenges presented by this horrible pandemic. I am confident that, as a team, we can continue to overcome these challenges. With the introduction of the Covid-19 vaccinations, I’m sure we will, in the near future, see a return to training and, hopefully, some residential events. The Senior Management Team will also continue to plan for an Annual Camp this summer.

In the meantime, I would encourage you all to support your Company's online training systems, and let you know that we remain open to any new initiatives or ideas to make this training more effective. Please keep safe and I look forward to seeing you all after the lockdown.

Col J Greenlee

Commandant, Yorkshire (N&W) ACF
