Earlier this Month cadets from Middleton Detachment, volunteered their time to assist with the Tour de Manc, which was run from Bowlee Community Park, Middleton.

The Tour de Manc is a Charity Bike Race that takes riders through all Boroughs of Greater Manchester, there were a number of routes for all abilities with the biggest course being over 128 miles!

The cadets were instrumental in ensuring a smooth registration and set off for all riders by scanning registration codes, handing out freebies and ensuring a rousing set off as riders started their challenge.

As cyclists returned cadets welcomed the weary legs with a fearsome applause and handed out those well earned medals.

It was a great opportunity for the cadets to volunteer in their local community and they did themselves proud with staff receiving numerous compliments on their behaviour and turnout all day. I'm sure we’ll be back again next year.

The DC has even purchased a bike in preparation! (He needs the practice!)

Well done everyone.
