DORSET CADET AWARDED MERITORIOUS ACTION CERTIFICATE
Cadet Corporal Daniel Quinn of Dorset ACF has been awarded the ACCT UK National Meritorious Action Certificate.
Cpl Quinn’s mother began choking on food. His father who was with her did not know what to do. Cpl Quinn told her to try to cough, then administered back slaps and finally abdominal thrusts, whilst simultaneously directing his father to call an ambulance. The third round of abdominal thrusts managed to dislodge the obstruction.
The paramedic attending stated that his prompt actions had undoubtedly saved his mother's life.
The Meritorious Action Certificate is the higher of the two National Praiseworthy Action awards made by ACCT UK and is scarcely given.
