Medal and Clasp presentations to some of our amazing adult volunteers.
On Sunday 19th September 2021, eight members of Greater Manchester ACF were presented by Honorary Colonel Sharman Birtles - Vice Lord Lieutenant of Greater Manchester, JP, DL – 3 long service medals and 5 clasps.
The presentations were made to:
SSI Paul Barber - 12 years long service medal.
SI Andy Zallman - 12 years long service medal.
SSI Jo Bashir - 12 years long service medal (SSI Bashir was unable to wear uniform due to a foot injury preventing her wearing her boots)
The clasps are awarded for 6 additional years of service within the Army cadet force.
SMI Ian Dawes - 1st Clasp (18 years)
Captain Steve Riding - 1st Clasp (18 years)
Major Robert Macdonald - 3rd Clasp (30 years)
SMI Colin Dawson - 4th Clasp (36 years)
Lt Colonel Paul Smillie - 4th Clasp (36 years)
For adults to complete the years of volunteer service to one organisation, shows exactly how the Army Cadets really is a fantastic organisation to belong too.
In addition to the long service medals/clasps two Guinness Book of Records Certificates were awarded. More of these to follow.
