HUGE TURNOUT FOR DETACHMENT COMMANDER'S CONFERENCE!
Dorset ACF held their first Detachment Commander's (DC's) Conference this weekend with a bumper turnout of over 25 Adult instructors from across the County including those aspiring to become DC's.
Delegates received information updates and best practice stories as well as presentations about the Nursing Cadets Scheme, CVQO vocational qualifications and the Duke of Edinburgh Award. Finally the County Commandant, Colonel Dick Taylor held a hugely valuable interactive forum. He said of the event:
"The inaugural Detachment Commanders Conference was a great success. We covered a lot of ground and even solved ( I hope) a couple of problems. One specific area that was highlighted was the desire for more Adult progressive training, and we will crack on in programming that in. I was delighted with the positive attitude on display and everyone agreed that this should become a six-monthly event, with a social element included. This will happen, the next one will be in October, date tbc.
Dorset ACF = BITSW!"
