Sunday 18 April saw, 15 Cadet Force Adult Volunteers (CFAV) return to face to face training to complete their Emergency First Aid at Work Course.

The day saw representatives from all five companies attend one of the two venues where the course was being held by the County First Aid Training Team in readiness for the detachments returning to training in May.

Courses were held at Halifax Barracks for those in A & B company, while those attending from C, D and E Companies attended at Rotherham.

The County First Aid Training Officer, Captain Gary McDool said: “It has to be said that with the new Covid restrictions in place it was a very different course to what we normally run! but with a few minor tweeks made on the day it ran relatively smoothly. The students certainly seemed to enjoy their day.”

Training for the CFAV continues with a full First Aid at Work & Tourniquet Course will be ran over the weekend of 8 & 9 May. Company Training Officers will be contacting their company personnel to offer places for those who require the course. Additional courses will be put on throughout the year.
