By Major Andy Pilling, Company Commander No 3 (Somme) Company
2022 being the Platinum Jubilee of HM Queen Elizabeth cadets from No 3 (Somme) Company were tasked with creating a poster that would be displayed in all the Detachments in Greater Manchester and show what the Jubilee meant to them. The posters to advertise a large parade of Cadets and Cadet Force Adult Volunteers on the 2nd June 2022 to honour the Queens Platinum Jubilee. A day that will also include a street party for all those taking part.
The cadets used their own designs an imagination to create their posters and over 25 were entered.
All the posters were displayed anonymously, and the winner was chosen by the Company Commander, Major Pilling and CSM, SMI Woodward. A very difficult decision due to the high quality of entries made. All the cadets worked extremely hard on their designs which exemplified what the Queens’ Platinum Jubilee means and how important this year is.
The worthy winners from Hyde Detachment were Cadet Durham, Cadet Tevendale and Cadet Cooper.
The second place winner was Cadet Hirst also from Hyde Detachment.
The Third Place was Cadet Johnstone, Cadet Gresty and Cadet Siros also from Hyde Detachment.
Hyde Detachment clearly an artistic detachment.
A huge thank you goes to all the cadets who took part in the competition.
Pictures show the cadets receiving their prizes from SSI Mansell the proud Detachment Commander of Hyde Detachment.
