Cadet Hannah Teeton is from Rochester Detachment, Kent ACF Squadron RE, she recently won a bronze medal in the 1500m final at the National Athletics Competition - what a fantastic achievement.

She was a double gold medallist winner in the Regional Athletics competition in May and therefore was selected to represent SE Region in the National Athletics competition.

Results:

Southeast (SE) Region junior girls came first overall in their category.

The SE Region Team finished 3rd place nationally overall.

Here is what she said:

"I was so happy that I had qualified to join the SE team for the national event. After winning the 1500m at the regional event. I was surprised when they announced I was first in the long jump.

But so happy that I had qualified to compete in two disciplines. I knew I really wanted to go to Liverpool to take part in the national event.

I was so happy. Excited but also a bit nervous, I competed in the long jump and the 1500 m. The competition was much tougher than at the regional level with some of the other regions bringing great competitors. I am sure some of them attend athletics clubs.

I knew I was not going home without a medal, and I was going to do my best to get a medal. Even if it was the bronze, it is more the mental game of telling yourself that will end soon and telling yourself you can do it because you can it is just a mental block.

I really enjoyed taking part in the regional athletics event as a member of the Kent ACF team.

It was such a fun day. With amazing team spirit".

Well done to everyone who took part!

It was a completely unreal experience to join with my competition to become a member of the SE Region team and attend the event against other regional teams. It was so exciting to be part of the SE Region and I am so happy I could contribute to the SE junior girls winning, and so proud that the SE region finished third in the competition!
