Lord-Lieutenants' Commendation

Greater Manchester Army Cadet Force Professional Support Staff based at Holcombe Moor produced an extraordinary ten months support to Operation RESCRIPT.

Army Headquarters North West, as the Joint Military Command under the Strategic Joint Command, placed K Battery, 5 Regiment Royal Artillery into Holcombe Moor Cadet Training Centre (Holcombe Moor) on 19 June 2020 to support the National Health Service, delivering much needed medical resources and provisions to the regional National Health Service distribution outlets. On 28 July, 5 Regiment Royal Artillery. The camp was reconfigured back to become fully COVID-19 compliant with 86 beds, 2 metre spacing markers, relevant signage and replenishment of all sanitation products.

On 12 November 2020, 4 Regiment Royal Logistics Corps deployed to Holcombe Moor under Operation RESCRIPT with 76 officers and soldiers supporting the Test and Trace programme in Merseyside. They operated a 24-hour shift system, which concluded on 5th of December 2020. This deployment was quickly followed by the arrival of 78 officers and soldiers from 7 Regiment Royal Logistic Corps on 11 December 2020 in support of the local Lancashire testing programme until 22 January 2021.

In summary, a superb team effort in support of Operation RESCRIPT. Holcombe Moor has been key to the operational planning. The staff, who have worked tirelessly and gone over and above, providing such critical and valuable support.

Holcombe Moor staff are awarded the Lord-Lieutenants’ Commendation.
