Goodbye and Good Luck To..

21 February 2023

  • Merseyside ACF

Last month we said goodbye and good Luck to Cadet RSM (Regimental Sergeant Major) Erin Donovan who has reached the end of her Cadet Journey at aged 18 and now is looking forward to starting a new journey into a career in medicine.

Cadet RSM Donovan's father has said:

"I’d just like to say that Erin’s Mum and I are both very proud of her achievements whilst she has been part of Merseyside Army Cadets. Erin has thoroughly enjoyed every single minute of the journey since joining as a new 12 year old recruit. We have witnessed first hand the positive influence that both the Adults and her peers alike have contributed towards helping to mold her into the young woman that she is today!

Erin is both committed and driven when she sets her mind to a task and I’m sure the lessons and skills learnt will hold her in good stead as she pursues a future career in medicine. A big thank you to all at MACF from very proud parents. “

Staff Sergeant Instructor Mcneilis, who was Cdt RSM Donovan's Detachment Commander told us:

"Cdt RSM Donovan has had a fantastic career, even through such a challenging time for Cadets during the pandemic. Despite all of this, her perseverance allowed her to achieve a lot in Cadets and she has been an examplary Cadet and will be missed at the Detachment & Company. Best of luck in the future RSM Donovan."

Merseyside ACF Commandant, Colonel David Seddon (ACF) has said:

"It's always sad to see Cadets leave but it's also great to see them move on with their lives. Cdt RSM Donovan is a prime example of what can be achieved in the Cadets. RSM Donovan has done herself proud and her parents.

Thank you for all you have done for Merseyside ACF and good luck in the next stage of your life and I'm sure you will succeed in wherever the adventure takes you."

Cadet RSM Donovan says:

"Thank you to everyone who made my Cadet journey so memorable, and to all the Adults who helped me along the way. Couldn’t be more grateful for my time and sad it’s over but looking forward to all my future plans. Hopefully see you all in the future."
