GOLD DOFE AWARD FOR
OUTGOING CADET RSM

Dorset Army Cadet Force wishes to Congratulate James Budding on the achievement of his GOLD Duke of Edinburgh Award.

James has been a Cadet at Blandford detachment and has recently aged out at 18 with the rank of Cadet RSM.

When asked about what he thought about the Duke of Edinburgh award he said:

"I have loved the time I have spent across my Bronze, Silver and Gold awards and have been lucky enough to meet many of my closest friends from within Dorset and across the country thanks to expeditions and the residential sections of my awards. It also helped me in my cadet life as well, allowing me to practice my teaching of lessons and help out my detachment and company by running NAAFI etc.

So finally, if you describe your life as boring, you haven't considered the challenge the DofE will bring. It will take you out of your comfort zone, expose you to things you've never done before and give you a sense of achievement as you progress from bronze, through to silver and ultimately gold. Don't leave it until tomorrow, sign up today"

James has a bright future ahead of him as he heads off to college with a view to securing a place at the Royal Military Academy in Sandhurst. We wish him the very best of luck.

Anyone wishing to sign up for the award can do so in year 9 for the Bronze, year 10 for the Silver and you have to be 16 to sign up for Gold.

The Army Cadet Force is committed to ensuring that every cadet is offered the opportunity to complete this highly recognised and regarded award.
