Out of isolation and raring (or should that be roaring?!) to go was Dylan the Dragon, who rocked up at SMI Hobb’s camp to ‘assist’ and join in the virtual sleep out. During the 24 hour event, a wealth of different sessions were on offer for the participants, including Kelper Kayak with SI Barnes and Night Navigation with Captain Chaplin. On the Sunday morning, Captain Edmunds, the County First Aid Training Officer, turned up to check on Dylan the Dragon, make sure that everything was ok and that Dylan was remembering to follow the Covid Safe rules! He also quizzed Dylan to check just how much he’d learnt from the experience. The Cadets and Adults who took part all had a fantastic time, and were thrilled to get a little bit of outdoor experience in readiness for the return to face-to-face training! A huge thanks to everyone who participated, and especially to the adults who planned and delivered the different sessions. We are all looking forward to the time when these camp outs no longer have to be virtual! If you’re interested in finding out more about we offer, for both youngsters and adults volunteers, why not get in touch? We could be just what you’re looking for!
