Outstanding cadet Hailee Rea-Crossley has been awarded one of the highest honours any cadet can achieve – appointment as a Lord-Lieutenant Cadet for her the East Riding of Yorkshire.

It was an evening made extra specia for the Cadet Corporal by the fact her mum Lieutenant (Lt) Donna Rea also received an award on the same evening. Lt Rea received a Lord Lieutenant's award alongside six other Cadet Force Adult Volunteers (CFAV) from the county.

Captain Valarie Johnson, Captain Michael Johnson, Second Lieutenant Sharon North, Adult Under Officer Nichola Boyce, and Sergeant Instructor Michael Bottrill from Humberside and South Yorkshire Army Cadet Force, and Warrant Officer Ellen Lowe, Central and East Yorkshire Wing, Hornsea Squadron were all also awarded Lord Lord Lieutenant's awards.

They were honoured at a special ceremony at 150 Regiment Royal Logistic Corps’ base at Middleton Barracks in Hull. The event was hosted by the RFCA for Yorkshire and the Humber to enable the Lord-Lieutenant to recognise some of the county’s very best volunteers".

The Lord-Lieutenant said: “It is a privilege to be able to pay tribute to some of the East Riding of Yorkshire’s most outstanding individuals who volunteer time to create unique and fantastic opportunities for young people in their communities.

"It is particularly a pleasure to welcome my newly-appointed Lord-Lieutenant Cadet Hailee who is a remarkable young person and someone who I’m looking forward to getting to know better over the coming year".

“I am also delighted to recognise the contribution made by the region’s cadet force adult volunteers. They deserve our deepest gratitude for the time they give to help young people gain access to the wide range of opportunities made possible by the cadet movement.”
