It was another busy day for the second East (El Alamein) Company SAA and Shooting Day at Wallisdown Detachment on Saturday.

Cadets from Bournemouth and Boscombe, Parkstone and Rossmore and Wallisdown Detachment came together to train, complete their Weapon Handling Tests and to shoot the Scorpion Air Rifle and the Cadet Small Bore Target Rifle.

At the end of the day there were several presentations as Cadets were awarded shooting badges and APC Star Passes.

Company Commander, Major Dom Brooks said; “It’s been another fantastic day of training and I’d like to congratulate all the Cadets who took part today. Everyone achieved something today.” Adding: “I also have to thank all the staff who were here to deliver the training and support our Cadets.

Getting back into the swing of training is a priority for the company and these days of consolidation are an integral part of our plan.”

Cpl Luke James of Bournemouth and Boscombe Detachment said: “It’s been great to be back training at the Detachment but days like this are fantastic, I’ve been able to practice my skills, get back up to speed and pass my Weapon Handling Tests on several rifles.”
