This morning Cadets from East (El Alamein) Company's Bournemouth & Boscombe and Christchurch Detachments came together at local beauty spot - Hengisbury Head to undertake their Basic and 1* Navigation Assessments.

A total of 15 Cadets undertook the pre-planned route and showed their understanding of basic map skills including handrails and maintaining their position on a map as well as keeping their map orientated to the ground.. some then showed their understanding of 4 and 6 Figure Grid References as they completed their 1* Assessments.
Bournemouth & Boscombe Detachment Commander, 2Lt Ian Ison said:

"The skills and confidence on show were great and all the cadets performed exceptionally well throughout. I'd also like to thank Cpls Taylor and Thompson from Christchurch for their assistance today, as they worked alongside the Adult Instructors and supported the younger Cadets."
