Never one to do things by halves Cadet Sjt Honor Bensley, from Beechen Cliff Platoon, Normandy Company, was appointed HM Lord-Lieutenant’s Cadet by Mrs Annie Maw, HM Lord Lieutenant of Somerset, at a ceremony on 5th October in recognition of the sterling service that Sjt Bensley has undertaken for Army Cadets in the county - an appointment that is richly deserved.
Hot on the heels of that Sjt Bensley then leap-frogged up the promotion ladder on Saturday when she was promoted to Cadet Sergeant Major and appointed Company Sergeant Major of Normandy Company. She received her new rank slide and CSM’s cane from Brig Richard Toomey CBE, Honorary Colonel, Somerset Army Cadets, during the weekend camp at Yoxter Cadet Training Centre.
