Over the past week two of our Instructors, Lt Tilsed, Poole Detachment Commander, and Expedition Officer along with SSI Jackson the County Signals Officer attended a 'Virtual" KGVI course presented online by the staff of Frimley Cadet Training Centre.

The aim of the KGVI (King George VI Memorial Course) is to prepare ACF Lieutenants and Staff Sergeant Instructors for their roles as ACF Captains and Sergeant Major Instructors working at Area and County level and to build skills for the additional leadership responsibility involved in working at higher levels.

Due to Covid restrictions, this course was delivered virtually over the Teams platform, and as commented by the course director at the beginning of the course, "Even though the course is being delivered virtually, it is still the full course which gets delivered at the CTC."

Lt Tilsed said, “It was a very interesting and detailed course, although very strange at first being delivered virtually, I would highly recommend the course as it has amazing content, and was very well delivered by the Directing Staff ”.

SSI Jackson added “It was a useful course which had very informative presentations throughout, I really enjoyed it ”

Following on from completing the KGVI course our Adult Instructors also have the great opportunity to gain an ILM level 5 qualification from CVQO. It’s a great opportunity as the work you complete on the course aids in the completion of the qualification.
