On Wednesday 13th October, Derbyshire Army Cadet Force held Her Majesty's Lord Lieutenant's Presentation Evening.
The evening was held to invest cadets as this years Lord Lieutenant cadet from both The Army Cadet Force and The Royal Air Force Cadets.
Colonel C Doyle, Commandant of Derbyshire Army Cadet Force welcomed everybody to the evening before handing over to the Lord Lieutenant, Elizabeth Fothergill CBE to present the previous Lord Lieutenant's cadets, Staff Cadet Colour Sergeant Claudia Gration and RAF Cadet Flight Sergeant Emily Mills with their certificates. Col Doyle offered his sincere congratulations and wished both cadets good luck for their year ahead.
This year, Derbyshire Army Cadet Force's Lord Lieutenant Cadet is appointed to Cdt Colour Sergeant William Stelfox. CSgt Stelfox gave an inspiring presentation to everybody, stating what an honour it was to hold this title and how he pledges to fulfil this role and responsibility.
The Royal Air Force Cadets appointed Cadet Sergeant Abigail Adams. She too gave a presentation detailing her role in the Air Cadets and the privilege it will be to accompany the Lord Lieutenant on various engagements.
Finally, the Lord Lieutenant closed the investiture by thanking the cadets, and Cadet Force Adult Volunteers for their continuous engagement over the past 18 months, furthering how it was a joy to see the cadets once again parading in their detachments.
Thanks go to the Derbyshire Army Cadet Force band, who played their first event since returning in September, and accompanied this evening with fantastic music.
