The culmination of several years of great effort culminated in a visit to the palace for Elise Faragher from Tywyn. Elise a former cadet and now a potential adult instructor completed her Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award (DofE) through the ACF.
Elise said “I had been waiting for this day for many years, last Friday saw myself and my mum going to Buckingham Palace for my Gold DofE presentation. The day was just as cool as you’d imagine and we even got a speech from the newly appointed Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Edward”
County DofE Officer Tracey Cooper said “I was absolutely delighted to attend the Palace to participate in the Gold Award celebrations. PI Faragher is our first Gold Award recipient since 2012, and it is fantastic to see her achievement. Even more exciting is that we have a number of other cadets who will be completing their Gold awards in the next few months”
