Day 4 – Annual Camp No 1 (Minden) Company

17 August 2021

  • Greater Manchester ACF

SMI Debbie Callaghan, County PRO

Our Honorary Colonel & Vice Lord-Lieutenant Sharman Birtles, visited the cadets and staff from No 1 (Minden) Company on their adventures training. Her husband Graham was also in attendance as he really enjoys watching the cadet activities.

The activities included, canoeing, waterboards, archery, mountain biking, grass sledging and abseiling. The rain was with us most of the day but with the cadets getting wet in the water anyway, they didn’t mind the extra water coming down on them.

The Hon Col had lunch with the cadets and staff before more walking to different parts of the adventure training centre to chat with, and watch the cadets and staff taking part.

The Hon Col said she thoroughly enjoyed her visit.

At the end of the day the Company Sergeant Major, SMI Mike Toner, spoke with the cadets and staff and thanked them for attending the last 4 days of activities. What he didn’t know was the plan the cadets and staff had to soak him through to end the day. A great way.

Thank you to all the cadets and staff who attended from No 1 (Minden) Company over the last 4 days. We hope you had an amazing time and now we look forward to getting back into detachments and seeing you all again soon.

Thank you to SI James Hutton and SI Tony Burns for some of the photos from today.

Pictures from Day 4 can be found on our County Facebook page.

Please note: All activities are conducted under Army Cadet Covid-19 Guidance.
