Cambs ACF recently conducted another CyberFirst Adventurers Course at Cambridge Regional College. The course helps to introduce awareness of cyber security, develops digital skills and promotes careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths). Like last year, this was organised via CISTT (the Cadet Signals Training Team) - Blandford and QA (a tech talent and training organisation). The course was run by Officer Commanding 4 Company (which includes CRC) Major Nyg Parry and County CIS (Communication and Information Systems) Officer Captain Al Protacio. 15 CRC students/cadets attended the course.

CyberFirst Adventurers Course

The students gave great feedback, with comments including; ‘Fun and brilliant lessons, learning new things while having fun’ and ‘it was amazing to learn about the new technology and privacy.’

Captain Protacio said: ‘I feel that the course went well, as the cadets enjoyed the lessons while they learned and developed practical skills on cyber security. It was quite fulfilling to see them focus on the given tasks which resulted in them progressing rapidly through the lessons in a short span of time. As we live in a digital age, it is very important for cadets to develop their digital skills. One vital benefit of acquiring these skills is being able to protect personal data, not only their own, but also their family and friends, so as to avoid being a victim of fraud, such as phishing scams and identity theft.’

Very well done to our organisers and those who participated in this important training.
