Cadet Corporal Curtis Dickson (17) was appointed as the new Lord Lieutenant’s Cadet of Moray in a presentation held on Remembrance Sunday following the end of the Lossiemouth Parade.

Cpl Dickson has been a member of the Army Cadet Force since November 2018. Over his time with the cadets Curtis has been a valuable asset to the cadets of Elgin. Like many cadets Curtis’ cadet training was effected by the COVID19 Pandemic, but he was still able to continue with some parts of cadet training due to a lot of Army Cadet training being delivered online. Cpl Dickson was very active in ensuring that the cadets of Elgin took part in the online training to help them progress with their training.

Although Cpl Dickson only received his certificate of appointment this month, he was appointed to his new position back in April this year, making him one of the very last cadet’s to be appointed as Her Majesty’s Lord Lieutenants Cadet due to the sad passing of Her Majesty The Queen earlier this year.

As the Lord Lieutenant’s Cadet, Curtis will attend events that Lord Lieutenant of Moray attends in his capacity as The Monarch’s Representative to the County of Moray. Cpl Dickson took over the position from fellow Elgin Army Cadet Bethany Young whose appointment ended in April.
