P.R.O. DOUG STUART AWARDED THE COMMANDANT'S COIN FOR OUTSTANDING WORK

25 January 2021

  • Cambridgeshire ACF

PI Douglas (Doug) Stuart joined Cambridgeshire Army Cadet Force on the 12 May 2019 as a Cadet Force Adult Volunteer (CFAV) and was immediately enrolled on the induction and familiarisation package. It was identified at an early stage that PI Stuart had civilian employment skills that saw him particularly well-suited to the Public Relations Officer (PRO) role. Following the loss of the County’s previous PRO, Doug was offered the PRO role and accepted the opportunity enthusiastically.

Doug picked up the PRO role immediately and juggled this with his induction package to be a CFAV. Despite early days, Doug shone. In comparison to all other PROs I have worked with, he is the most hard-working, loyal, and patient individual to have filled this demanding role. His professionalism as the Cambs ACF PRO has seen him excel both before and during the restrictive period borne out of COVID-19. His diligence and commitment to the role of PRO has seen the County enjoy a level of communication, through the County’s webpage, social media sites and news articles, that has not been seen hitherto. His work has always been of the highest quality throughout the period.

Commandant Colonel Fraser-Hitchen congratulates PI Stuart with a virtual handshake.

Doug’s solid start to his ACF service has drawn thanks from many quarters. His hard work and developing skills in the ACF will, undoubtably, continue to benefit Cambs ACF. In recognition of his service and commitment thus far, PI Doug Stuart has received the Commandant’s Coin.
