Sunday 14th May 2023, Wiltshire ACF Corps of Drums & Bugles had the extreme privilege and honour of being the first ACF Corps to be invited to parade and play at the 99th Combined Cavalry & Old Comrades Parade and Memorial Service in Hyde Park, London.
Following plenty of preparation and practice over the past weeks, the Corps had an early start this morning. Leaving at 0600hrs to get to London. Arriving to have breakfast in Hyde Park Barracks, Home of The Household Calvary. It was then down to business with getting kitted up and a warm up whilst making their way to the start of the parade.
All Cadets put in an amazing performance throughout the event and did themselves and Wiltshire ACF proud. Parading in the company of The Band of The Household Cavalry, The Army Band Tidworth, and The Band of The Royal Yeomanry.
Many attendees of the parade praised and commented on the standard of our Corps presentation and playing.
Following the Ceremony, Field Marshall HRH The Duke of Kent spoke with some of our Cadets about their experience of the day and how much they enjoy being part of the ACF.
A very proud day for Wiltshire ACF Corps of Drums & Bugles!
