SMI Debbie Callaghan, County Media Officer
Cadet Jones, No 5 (Anzio) Company, was recommended for the Commandant’s coin by his Detachment Commander, 2Lt Michelle Maunder.
The recommendation was made after Cadet Jones witnessed a serious assault which resulted in Cadet Jones needing to use First Aid Skills to provide lifesaving First Aid whilst waiting for an ambulance to arrive.
Cadet Jones was praised by the police for his actions, remaining calm and administering First Aid, which helped to save the life of the person who was seriously assaulted.
The Commandant’s Coin is awarded for Excellence in recognition of considerable efforts to be a Force for Good within the Army Cadets and the local community.
The actions of Cadets Jones are most definitely deserving of the prestigious Commandant’s Coin.
Well done Cadet Jones.
A card and the Commandants Coin was sent to Cadet Jones at his home by our Commandant, Col Catherine Harrison.
