St Neots Detachment and Cambridgeshire ACF said farewell to RSM Sophie Moule who has aged out this week, and was presented with an engraved Pace Stick by Company Training Officer Lt Burgoyne.

Cadet RSM Moule says goodbye to the ACF

Being presented with her pace stick.
Sophie has had an incredible career within the ACF. She has attended two CCAT Adventure Training expeditions; Ex Knoydart Challenger (a week walking in remote Scotland) and Ex Solent Challenger (a week sailing). Sophie has also got through to the penultimate stage of this years CVQO Westminster Award, the next stage being a selection event in Cornwall. This entails working with local charities, a worldwide humanitarian aid organisation and adventure training companies, on a varied programme of activities. In November of last year she attended The Royal Geographical Society Explorers Conference as a representative of the ACF. Sophie has also completed her Master Cadet at Frimley Park & Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, to name but a few of her achievements.

At Detachment, June 2023.
Her Detachment Commander, SSI Irving said: ‘In my time as a Cadet Force Adult Volunteer I have never known anyone as determined to achieve as much as Sophie in such a short period of time. I often wonder how she has any spare time with her volunteering and cadet commitments. One such example of her commitment was completing our nine-day annual camp and then immediately embarking on a sailing expedition the next day!’

During Exercise Solent Challenger, August 2022.
Sophie plans a career in the Regular Army as an Officer. We wish her the best of luck and will no doubt see her in the near future as a CFAV or Service Helper. She has become widely respected in the ACF amongst adults and cadets, not only for her achievements, but also for her leadership and kindness to everyone she deals with. We have no doubt that her many qualities, and experience in the ACF, will ensure she has a great future ahead of her.
