Cadet Promotions for No 1 (Minden) Company

26 May 2021

  • Greater Manchester ACF

Major Andy Pilling, Officer Commanding, No 3 (Somme) Company

Cadets from No 1 (Minden) Company haven’t been put of training and progression due to the national lockdown, which has prevented them attending face to face training for over 12 months.

Cadets are promoted as they progress through their ACF journey. Twice a year the Company will run an NCO (Non Commissioned Officer) Development Weekend. The weekend enables cadets to show their instructors that they have the commitment and qualities to become leaders in the ACF. Helping more junior cadets enjoy their cadet experience.

The cadets would give presentations, knowledge checks on their subjects and show leadership skills.

Due to lockdown the sessions were held on Zoom and over 7 sessions on Sunday afternoons. The cadets who attended each week showed their commitment to achieving their goal of being promoted to the next rank.

Following successful interviews the cadets were promoted and when they return to face to face training will work on their leadership skills to help staff and their fellow cadets.

Promoted to Cadet Corporal:

Cadet Corporal Aubrey - Ramsbottom Detachment

Cadet Corporal Taylor - Ramsbottom Detachment

Cadet Corporal Monaghan - Ramsbottom Detachment
