Over the weekend of the 29th of November 2021 Cadet Lance Corporal Hannah Battersby conducted a sponsored swim to raise money for Leigh (King's Royal Hussars) Detachment.

Swimming 60 lengths, a total of 1,609 meters over the duration of the swim. LCpl Battersby managed to raise £250.

The donation was gratefully received by Leigh Detachment Commander, Sergeant Instructor Fiona Shorthouse, who said: “I am very proud that LCpl Battersby thought of the Detachment and showed the great determination required to accomplish this task"

The detachment was brought to attention during their initial parade of the evening to hear about the event and officially receive the donation. LCpl Battersby returned to formation to a huge round of applause by her fellow cadets and Instructors.
