Former Clwyd and Gwynedd Deputy Commandant recognised by the Queen in the New Year’s Honours List.

Congratulations to former Clwyd and Gwynedd ACF Deputy Commandant and Deputy Colonel Cadets for Wales Colonel Melanie Prangnell on her award of the MBE in the New Year’s Honours List.

Melanie, a former cadet, has over twenty years’ service with the ACF rising to the position of Deputy Commandant with Clwyd and Gwynedd before becoming Deputy Colonel Cadets for Wales. She is now the National Training Adviser and the SO1 Medical & First Aid in Cadets Branch at Regional Command.

Melanie said, “I am truly humbled and very surprised to have been nominated for what is essentially doing the best hobby (most of it served with the best county) Adult Volunteers past and present are some of the most selfless people who inspire our cadets every day.”

Col LT Williams Colonel Cadets for Wales said “I heartily congratulate Melanie on her award. A recognition of her years of service not only with Clwyd and Gwynedd ACF but also recently with 160th (Welsh) Brigade and now in her national role.”
