The visit was organised as part of the ‘Cadet and the Community’ section of their cadet training syllabus, which aims to promote citizenship and develop better individuals in the future. The staff at the station shown the cadets round the station and some of the equipment they use as well as the all-important sit within the fire engine. The cadets also received a demonstration of use of the hoses, and got to roll out the hoses, as well as some of them even getting the chance even use the fire hoses.
Following the visit Aviemore Detachment Commander, Major Iain Cassidy (67) said; “The visit to the Aviemore Fire Station was a big success, with the cadets getting plenty of firefighting practice.”
