The excerpt below is taken from Army Cadet Music.
After arriving on Saturday, nearly 500 CFAVs and Cadets have been polishing their musical skills at Otterburn Camp for the Easter National Music Camp. We were joined by members of the Band of the Royal Regiment of Scotland who will be working with the Senior Band and CFAVs to improve their musicianship. We hosted Colonel Ashley Fulford, ACF Colonel Cadets & the National RSM WO1 David Lightfoot who enjoyed his first lesson on the drum and triangle!
During the week we were joined by members of The Royal Regiment of Scotland Band who gave expert tuition to our Cadets and CFAVs. At the end of the week, the whole Band joined us and gave our Cadets, CFAVs & Guests a fantastic display.
The Band also helped with our National Cadet Senior Drum Major Competition, the Cadets selected to take part had the fantastic opportunity to lead the Band during their assessment. This competition was judged by the Senior Drum Major British Army WO1 (DMaj) Bennett who expertly judged the tough competition.
Well done to all involved!
If you are interested in learning a musical instrument please contact your Detachment Commander or County Music Officer. All Cadets and CFAVs are welcome on National Music Camps, no experience is required.
