The British Army have been extremely supportive during the lockdown periods, providing virtual events and training to support Cadet and Adult development and engagement. However, it isn’t quite like the real thing, is it?!
The evening was very informative - the cadets learnt a lot from chatting to their guests about experiences in the Regiment and what life is like as a soldier in the Regular Army. The real draw of the event though, of course, was Lance Corporal Jones, the Regimental Mascot. LCpl Emrys Forman Jones is an eight year old Welsh Mountain Pony who became the first regimental mascot of 1st The Queen’s Dragoon Guards in 2016, and comes from a distinguished line of Welsh Ponies. His presence on Tuesday was thoroughly enjoyed by all!
A huge thank you to the Engagement Team for giving up their evening to share their experiences with the Cadets, and to the Detachment Commander, Jamie Lyons, and the Adult Instructors for organising it. We look forward to more joint working once restrictions ease.
If you like what you see, why not get in touch? You never know, we could be just what you’re looking for!
